Building the control layer for AI-assisted software development.

ForgeForward is an applied AI software company focused on human-governed systems for AI-assisted software development and practical software automation.

The problem

AI can generate software quickly. That capability is real and it is growing. But generation speed is not the hard part.

The hard part is what happens when there is no boundary. When AI agents operate without defined authority limits, without checkpoints, without a requirement to return evidence before decisions are accepted, the outputs are fast but ungoverned. Consequential decisions get made by automated systems that were never authorized to make them.

ForgeForward focuses on the control layer — the structures that define what AI agents are authorized to do, verify what actually happened, and keep release decisions under human authority. The goal is not to slow AI down. The goal is to make AI-assisted development governable.

Principles

DIRECT

Define objective, authority, constraints, and stop conditions.

Direction is not a prompt. It is a specification with authority boundaries — what the agent is authorized to do, what it is not, and the conditions under which it must stop and return control to a human.

VERIFY

Require evidence before accepting implementation claims.

An agent's assertion that work is complete is not evidence that work is complete. Verification requires observable, checkable outputs — not summaries, not confidence scores — before acceptance decisions are made.

GOVERN

Keep consequential decisions under human authority.

Governance is not a review step at the end of a pipeline. It is the structure within which the pipeline operates — defining boundaries, approving scope, accepting evidence, and controlling release at every consequential point.

Current work

Methods and systems for human-governed AI-assisted development.

ForgeForward develops methods and systems around human-governed AI-assisted software development and practical automation. The focus is on the control layer: the structures that keep human authority governing AI-assisted work at every consequential decision point.
